Ahhhh, my first post! I’ll do this the old fashioned way.

Hello, World!

Hi, my name is Mark. I’m a sophomore in High School, and I this is probably my, I’d say… 15th or so blog. I would have a list of my other blogs, but frankly, I can’t really remember them all. haha. I made this blog for a class I am taking; Web 2.0. It is a class about the new age of the Internet and all of the uses for it. For me, a good time is going outside and just hanging out. Of course, so is sitting around inside on the computer. I will say now, I have a very, very wide range of interests. I have probably one of the most bizarre combinations of extra curricular programs I know. I do tech in the drama club, webmaster for the Key Club, wrestle for the BHS wrestling team, and I am involved in a program called CTIA (Connecticut Innovation Academy. It is a program where a small group of people from a school get together and throughout the year, make a mock-company with products, marketing, etc…). My hobbies… hmm. I am very active, yet sit around a lot as well. I love working with computers. Last year, I took two computer courses, one was an independent study, and this year, I’m taking two in the first semester! I love skiing in the winter. I live on the lake, and I love my boat. I do a lot of water sports. I spent the majority of my summer doing the following: Wakeboarding, Slolemn Skiing, (two ski) water skiing, knee boarding, trying to go barefoot skiing, and so on. It’s obvious that I love the outdoors. I am a Boy Scout, rounding the Eagle Scout cornerstone. I am taking this class because 1: I plan to become a technical engineer, and 2: because I love the web and computers in general. I am currently use web 2.0 for so many things I can’t possibly list them all. Just a general idea, I use it to: Watch videos online, blog, have online communication, take courses, make websites, listen to music, so on and so forth… I use Mozilla Firefox to brows my web, but since Google Chrome just recently had a breakthrough in the beta, I have been using that as well. It is really fast and simple to use. The reason I still like Firefox more, is because of its personalization. I have customized it to exactly the way I want it. I use the web every day. I keep my computer on almost all of the time, except for when it is in standby to conserve power. I don’t really see blogs being used in school except for when teachers show us videos on their/educational weblogs. O.K, that’s about it for my first post. I think it’s just about long enough. I’ll keep everyone updated (possibly).
